I got some good size rock chips last summer while cruising and I am looking at getting a nose bra. For those of you that have one, does it cause any rubbing damage to the paint?

If you pull up previous threads regarding the Goldwing front Bra you will find a lot of opinions and humor. I use one on my wing but I now call it a front mask so Tom does not get mad at me. I have encountered no paint issues but I always put new coat of wax on the front when I wash the bike.

I've had one for about 3 seasons...
No wear that I can see...
I did give it a triple coat of wax, b4 I put it on, and every spring I hit it again with a single coat

I had one on my '03 since new with no problems.

Every fall when I store it for the winter, I apply a coat on wax under it.

One suggestion: If you ride in a lot of rain, maybe a good idea to remove it for a while to let it dry. The backing is like a felt material and will absorb moisture.

Great way to cut down bug removal.

I also like the looks and the black color contrast change it offers.

I'm still recommending the "Clear Bra" similar to the one I use on my cars. Can't be seen, works real well and you can wash and wax right over it. Cost about $100

never did a thing.... shortly after getting it home new and maybe
a 1000 miles on it... wiped off any bugs with some peroxide
and put on my bra..... no waxing no nothing before assembly

took it off 3 years later for the FIRST time... everything was fine
underneath... about 55,000 miles before it came off

it would still be on there if the threads didnt get eaten by the sunshine
and it needed to be taken off to be sewed up a bit

i now have a new 2nd one and the old one is repaired for backup so it
can get swapped out 3 or 4 years from now....

put it on and forget it.... no more chips... easy to clean off the bugs

i shopped around when i bought the 2nd one not long ago... HAL has the
best deal on this baby... he calls it a nose mask..

Rules

I have very specific rules concerning bras on my Wing. I have a bra for the nose of the bike and it's very nice. No bras of any sort are allowed on the back of the bike.

It works for me.
