Back a few years ago, on my way to work at around 5:15 am in early October I hit a small racked 10 pointer dead center when it jetted across in front of an oncoming car to my left. It unfortunately beat the car but not me going the opposite direction. Was still cruising about 75 on impact as it happened so fast I never even had time to chop the throttle. Bike was a Kawasaki Vulcan 750, and suffered a fair amount of damage. I repaired the bike, and it rode well, but I never felt the same about that one and sold it. I tried really hard but couldn’t get comfortable with that bike afterward. Replaced it with a new 2007 Yamaha FZ6. Now, that was an awesome machine right there!
