We live in Portland, OR and just returned from an excellent 7 day ride over 2,600 miles on our 1800. Although for most of you, news on the 1800 is nothing new...but we just got this bike 4 months ago....and the 1800 is so much more enjoyable than the 1500, we love it. It tows our cargo trailer like it's not even there.

Anyway, we got up that morning in West Yellowstone and hopped on the bike at 7am and it was clear and 25 degrees! With the Wing's comfort package, plus our Gerbing heated coats - we were indeed, comfy! We did not tow the trailer this day, but we finally rode over the famous Beartooth Pass. OMG....for those of you who have done this, you know what it's all about. WOW. It's like a small version of the Italian Alps.....endless switchbacks, pristine lakes, alpine meadows, some snow/glaciers, and our ZUMO GPS said we got up to 10,977 feet. You have to add this to your bucket list if you've not done this!!

Then we rode by the Grand Teton mountains to Jackson WY, and then by the Sawtooth mountains in Idaho. Unfortunately, there were forest fires all over, and all these mountain ranges were smokey -- but still gorgeous.

Towing, our worst MPG was 33, and the best was 46! We love the range on our 1800. Our last day we rode 220 miles on one tank (towing), and when we filled up, we still had over a gallon left.

We met a rider in his early 70's in Lakeview OR, on a 1500 trike, pulling a trailer, and he had been riding since May.....just did the "4 corners" of the U.S., and had done a little over 18,000 miles! Wow.

You are right. It is a must do ride. My pic on the forum was taken on top of beartooth on top of a large pile of boulders. Gps said 11006 ft.;)
