Id like some input on painting the lower cowl. I have a 06 dark red wing. If I go black can I use flat black bumper paint spray for plastic? If I decieded to go to the same color of the bike, where can I get the paint. Thanks

I took the easy route and ordered a color matched cowl from Road Trip essentials. The paint is a perfect match and has held up well! (As it should, they use Honda's paint).

I believe any auto paint store will be able to match and paint the cowl for you if they are willing to do small jobs like that.

I used high gloss black plastic spray paint from the auto store,on my lower cowl worked just fine, roughed up the surface with red scotch bright.
the color faded a tad bit after drying, it took about 7 hrs to dry enough to handle, and about a week to really cure, (harden) so the road debris do not leave a mark.

I colormatched the cowl, scuff guards, fender extension, and the lower exhaust protectors. The only place I could find the factory paint was through ColoRite. Cost me about 250.00 for enough paint to do everything. Even though it was pricey, it was still cheaper than buying the pieces allready color matched. If you are only going to do one piece, it would probably be beneficial to buy it painted to match.
