Now that I have your attention with the title, I’d like to show you what I found in the Honda service manual. I was looking at the seat heater schematics and happened to spot this passenger seat belt switch in the circuit.

Hmmmmm. The thoughts of a seat belt on a motorcycle is terrifying indeed. Surely it's a typo and not a design plan.

The first time I picked up my wife to be on my motorcycle, my soon to be father in-law asked where the seat belt was. That was back in 74.

Looks like the dude who drew the pic copied a Visio diagram of a car schematic and neglected to eliminate that part from his drawing. It was probably Friday afternoon and he just wanted to get outta there so he could go ride his Goldwing.

My seat heater comes on even when I’m not in the seat. I assume the airbag would not deploy with an empty seat.
