I'm thinking of not taking any more chances with my V-1 in the rain and want to get a proper waterproof case for it. The Pelican case would fit fine, anybody using one of these?http://www.hopkins-carter.com/images/pelican/1020.jpg I'm interested if the performance is reduced significantly because of the case..TIA

Yeah Todd, I took a look at one but at sixty-bucks I thought it was a little too much for a plastic box. The Pelican 1020 is a smidgen smaller and will probably fit the V-1 better...and I can get one for less than 19 bucks shipped. I am going to try it and see what happens....The plastic sandwich baggie that I normally cover it with doesn't have that <high tech farkle> image I am looking for

I use the V1 'Radar Cover' here:

$25.00 - a bit much for a piece of plastic, but it is very slim and form-fitting to the V1 and does the job well. I have it mounted on a ram mount with base plate and it's great (different than the mount they carry). I used the 4 screws right down through the bottom of the plastic case and base plate so it's bolted down. Then I put the velcro above the screw heads then the detector and top cover. It's solid, sealed from the elements, looks good, and the whole arm/plate is easily removed for storage.

Hope this helps,
Chris
