Met up with a few riders that have been joining the rides I have been leading on another internet group.
We had great weather and a great ride from Gilbertsville up to Penn's Peak to have lunch at Roadies Restaurant.

Total ride mileage for the day 183 miles.
From the outdoor dining area - it is a nice view on a clear day.

Give it a couple weeks and those mountains will be full of color. And the roads will have a lot more 4 wheelers full of leaf peepers! Nice area, I like riding up that way as well. Just rode for cheesesteaks to Forksville yesterday , a few miles west of you. 292 round trip miles this time.

My next ride on Oct 8th is to do the Pennsylvania "Tail of the Dragon" PA-125. That is always a nice ride and with the leaves changing around my house I'm thinking the group will be seeing some colors on that ride.

That ride should be over 200 - I KNOW "What" am I going to do for the rest of the day? LOL

What area is the pa version of the tail of the dragon, rt 125? I’m from the hbg area. If your open for a other rider I might be able to make it Oct 8th.

I'm surprised you haven't heard of it! The "start" of the best part is in Shamokin PA, about an hour and a half north northeast of Harrisburg.

I'm making a pre-ride on Tuesday so I might have a closer meetup location for you to meet us because right now I only have the WAWA in Lower Macungie (PA-100 & Willow Lane). The quickest route from Harrisburg to that spot would be I-81 E to I-78 E to exit PA-100 S. (It is NOT the first WAWA you come upon on PA-100 S - continue south of PA-222 for the next - correct - WAWA). My sister-in-law lives in Harrisburg and that trek would be about an hour and a half'ish. But she lives on the east side of Harrisburg near PA-39 (where the casino is).

I’ve been up in that area a few times. I’ve taken rt 209 from the sus, river to Jim Thorpe. I actually I live in Mechanicsburg but many know of Harrisburg more. What time frame are you thinking of doing your ride Tuesday? I work for UPS and home from work around 9:30am. I could meet you for the ride if my schedule suits yours.

The Quakertown WAWA - MY starting location would be too tight for you to make, but I'm meeting up at the WAWA in Lower Macungie at 11'ish. If you can give me an ETA you think you could make comfortably, I will wait. I usually time my breaks for 20 minutes even on my pre-rides to get a close timeline I will have during the group rides to POI,
