today we're going to ride to peralta rd in apache junction, then go hiking for a while. i think this is a good hike area. it's right under the superstition mountains.

well, peralta trail, or peralta canyon is just that, to get there from 60, is about 12-15 miles, but, 7 1/2 miles of the road is awfull dirt bumby gravel sand road, 10 -15 MPH, not sure the hike is worth the ride, altho, hiking up this canyon for 2 hours was quite difficult, but enjoyable, I would not do the hike again due to road condtions...

It's always been that way. If you are going to hike into the Superstitions you need to be ready for a rugged trail.
