All,

When conducting business with other members, please refrain from paying for your purchase via PayPal and "gifting" the money to avoid the PayPal transactions fees. While it may "save" the seller a few dollars, you're not only stealing from PayPal which has the right to collect fees for the service they provide, but is also puts you (the buyer) at additional risk if the purchase turns out to be fraudulent. PayPal offers "Purchase Protection" on most transactions, but when you "gift" funds to someone, you pretty much loose that protection.

And Sellers, if you're worried about those fees, keep in mind the fees are pretty reasonable. It's 2.9% + $.30 for each transaction. So if you're selling something for $100, your "cost" for that transaction is $3.20 (2.9% of $100 = $2.90 + $.30). If you're worried about that extra couple of dollars, then increase the price of your item to cover it.

While we can't make buyers follow this rule outside of the forum, you should protect yourself when dealing with someone you don't know.

If you see a For Sale post where the seller is saying the PayPal Fees are 5% or 10% or something you know to be false or they're wanting you to "Gift" the money to them, report the post. We need to know and action will be taken.

Also sellers, please leave you post up after your sale so the buyer can rate the transaction on iTrader. This will be good for the entire community.
