Kansas is trying to get passed a new bill that I think is great. It really increases the penalties for Failing to Yield to the right of way in the event an accident happens
They are as follows

1st conviction if there is property damage of $1000 or more is a non-Person Felony, $200 fine and DL suspended for 60 days

If injury is involved it is a Person Felony, $500 fine DL suspended for 90
days

If death occures it is a Person Felony, not less then 6 months in jail, $1000
fine and DL suspended for 3 years.

The second conviction on these goes up tremendously from there.

I sure hope it passes because something needs to be done. However none of these do any good if the prosecuter never charges the person and I am sure they can and will always plea bargain.

The jury's back on a road rage incident here in the Denver area. They brought in a 1st Degree Murder decision on some fool who got two drivers killed. You'll probably hear about this one.

1st Degree Murder! Obviously much more than failing to yield in this case.
