Here is a basic list of some of the info I am looking for. This info will not be shared with anybody except Honda and GWRRA Corporate. You'll note that I do not want your addresses, but I do need to know if the problem is cropping up is specific locations of the States which might indicate a certain batch of bikes.

Name?
E-mail?
Phone Number?
Year / Model (06 and newer - Level 1, 2, 3, or 4)?
Location you reside (State or Providence and Country)?
Location / Dealer who did/will perform repair?
Length of "downtime"?
Heel Toe (including brand) or not?
Miles on Bike when Problem Started?
Miles on Bike Now?
Any other aftermarket things (Like Traxxion, or Progressive Springs)?
Any out of pocket expenses?

+Any other info you think could be of use.

I am aware of several other cases of 1800's with this issue and I am told that Honda is aware of the problem, but is not planning on issuing a recall. Without your warranty, you would be looking at a $3,500 to $4,500 repair + + . I am also aware that the mileage on the "broken wings" varys greatly with most running into the issue before 20,ooo miles. I have just over 80,ooo miles since Jan 31 of 2007.
They expect a bent shift fork which has caused damage to the gears.

DJ, I have had the trans. jump out of 5 th three times, seems to be ok now, put about 900 miles on her this weekend. My question was is this the start of some future problems? We have an 06 w/navi, live in cen. Texas, bought from Georgetown honda , no heel toe shifter,43,000 miles on her.e-mail [email protected], 254-541-0212. thanks RLS
G.P. Hillsborough

Not sure if this is me. I've had an 04 when I lived in Hillsborough county, FL. Now I live in Pasco county, FL and have an O7. Both have done it.
DJ, I have had issues when I'm shifting from 1st to 2nd. Only does it now and then. But, enough to make it unpredictable:?:.
Greg -- Yup - gotcha on da list, and I have info for both bikes. Thanks

RGWING - send the requested info

Use your judgement here - if you feel you should be on the list, then post or send me the requested info. If you are unsure, PM me
Add me to the list twice

I have a 2001 GL1800A. The shifting fork bent and started to jerk into second gear at about 94,000 miles. Honda repaired it on a goodwill warranty. Now at 165,000 miles it is doing it again. I am bringing it in this month for repair again. No sure what Honda will do. Chris Di Fraia, from Sparks , Nevada......................
I think you have my info but I am not listed.

MH, Manson
Same here, I sent an e mail with all the info on it. If you didn't get it I'll send it again.
I have a few more names so I should have an updated list up in a day or two.

Mike Mencke Idaho falls Idaho 2003 Candy Apple Red got it last year with 20,000 miles. Was doing it when I got it. When shifting down from 4th to 3rd it will jump back and fourth from 3rd to 4th. really scary when going into a corner. Someone told me it might be hitting the rev limiter. Rode lots of bikes over the years and never had a problem like this. Bike has 34,000 miles on it now. I just watch the down shifting :>(
Pleas send me the requested info at my direct e-mail at firef[email protected]

Thanks and sorry to hear about your bike.

'07, 23,000 miles. Have had it jump from 5th to 4th on 5 occassions
What is the intent of your collecting this information?

I can only recall once that mine jumped out of gear but I thought it to be my fault. I don't get to ride it that much to make a real valid determination being winter and all.

Anyway...I am PMing the info just in case.

Mark Salyzyn [email protected] Orlando Florida, 2004 Black with 51,000 miles on it. Same symptoms as Mike's, but sometimes hits false neutral, always under acceleration and only really when I downshift from fourth. Started doing this about 1000 miles ago. No downtime on this yet, feel this is early in the symptoms. I have the extended warrantee and enough past warranty claims and accumulated downtime to trigger Magnussen Moss.

Already had 7 months of downtime at 32,000 miles for starter circlip popping off. Seminole Power Sports in Sanford Fl needs better mechanics.

This is my principal vehicle.

finley - got your info.. I presume you are out of warranty?
