Powerlet Meter Panel Install

I am going to be installing a Powerlet outlet on my meter panel to feed my StreetPilot. My question is, can the power be routed from this point to the aux connects on the fuse block WITHOUT removing the shelter? Didn't find any previous posts regarding this.

The short answer is Yes:

It will take taking out the left pocket, and using a fish wire to go down along the left side of the shelter, along the upper frame, and out into the area of the left side panel. From there to the battery. A little effort, but can be done. Should take less than an hour.
perhaps an easier method would be to use the aux power near the left mirror

it is switched with the key, and your gps would come on when the bike starts
From my online searches, the power lead under the pocket accepts a two wire Hitachi connector. I sent a couple of emails to Powerlet to see if they could supply my outlet with the correct connector already attached, since they already put the same connector on the unit that goes inside the right box. No one ever replied.

Perhaps I could just use small crimp connectors that mate to the ends already there?

Both sides have the same 3P mini Hitachi connectors. The right side is for the Grip Heaters and white in color. The left is for an Accessory Socket and red. Although the 3P Hitachi connectors have openings for three pins, they only use two in these two places. Your Powerlet should work on either side but there may be some variation to the way they mount.

Edit: If need be, you can buy Hitachi connectors here http://www.electricalconnection.com/
