I believe the Honda ones have the little center pin you push to release them. I have bought Big Bike ones and they just pushed in and you need a scewdriver to pry them out. After that I threw them in the garbage.

No - they are not the same pin - I think the head of the one for the fairing will not sit flush like the pocket pins do - interferring with closing the pocket door.
