For some reason my right hand goes numb in a short time if I'm using the throttle for speed control. (Not using cruise control) This happens in 10 to 15 miles. Why? Anybody else notice this or is just me?

If I use the cruise control, and merely rest my hands on the grip, this doesn't happen. It seems to be related to amount of pressure necessary to hold the throttle open. Would improved grips solve my problem? If so, which grips?

Also, I'm short enough that I find myself having to fully extend my arms, and maybe even slighly lean forward, to hold onto the handlebars. I think I need my bars set back, possibly with a set of Reg Risers. I've read about them a little, and it seems that in some cases the risers do not allow the handlebars to lock. What's this board's collective wisdom on the Reg Risers?

Thanks in advance from Southeast Texas

My hands can get numb too, try a throttle rocker, little device that you can rest your palm on and not have to grip the hand grip so hard.....

Reg risers will move the bars back to you, I think about 1 1/2 inches, this should help quite a bit....

what you are experiencing is the carpal tunnel nerve in your hand. Cruise is the only way to deal with it besides surgery.

Grips no matter which ones you buy will have no cure for the carpal.

As far as the reg risers. I have used them on my 2002 and I really like them. They raise the bars 1-1 1/2 inches and back about the same. Works for me.

Hope this helps

I have the Kury Iso grips DD talked about. They are a larger diameter than stock, and make a big difference. Also have a throttle boss you can just rest the heel of your hand on to hold speed. Allows you to loosen your grip on the handlebars. I also have the reg risers, and feel much more comfortable. Like you, I felt I had to lean forward with straight arms to grip the bars. I feel I sit "taller in the saddle" with the reg risers. However, I did have to relearn slow speed manuevers after the reg riser install. Might have been all in my head, but that slight change made a lot of difference!

How do the Kury grips if you have add-on grip heaters?

The larger grip would be a great thing for those of us with Gorilla size hands, but am concerned about what "looks" like chrome metal, and the operation of grip heaters.
