Looking at taking a day trip to the lake. We've never been there but heard many good things about the area. I'm mainly looking for input on where are some good restaurants/bars?

I'm not much of a food critic because when I'm hungry I can eat about anything. I can however map you out a great days ride to incorporate lake Raystown if your interested. 944, 655, 475, are all great roads. I'm not sure where you'll be starting from but getting there from south central pa is a blast also. Raystown area on the weekend can be pretty congested with traffic.
I have a place in Mill Creek, Huntingdon Co. I'm about 15 minutes from Raystown. I ride and hunt that area a lot. There is a nice restaurant at the marina. You can also take a ride around the lake on the tour boat. It's a nice ride. Good luck. Be safe and enjoy the ide. Larry
thanks for route ideas. I live in Mechanicsburg and took rt 641 to rt522 to rt 994. Relaxed a little along the lake watching the boats. Then headed up rt 26 to rt 22 to loop around back home via rt 322 and 11/15. A perfect days ride before the wife goes back to work tomorrow at school.
