I emailed bike mp3 twice and called once and they are at wingding, but I need answers now due to a time limit returning the garmin gps I just received in case I need a different one. So anyone help me please. I want the CB portion of the gl2way. The questions I have are, want to hook up gps, radar detector, mp3 player and use my bluetooth cell phone. I don't need to talk to the gps to dial, so I don't think I need the $69 cable. The gps I have is a garmin nuvi 1490t and has bluetooth and sd card slot and a mini usb plug, the mp3 player is the J&M digital player with the goldwing connectors and I think it hooks up in the trunk to some plug. So can integrate all of these and listen to fm radio, mp3 player, hear gps when it talks, and the radar detector when it beeps. The radar detector is a escort passport. I know can't listen to all at the same time, but to hook all of them up and listen by manual selection or auto by priority of the gl2way, thanks Randy

Randy

Your MP3 player is separate and just hooks up to the CD connector so not an issue

Pretty simple just connect the GPS to the GPS connector using the GPS input cable then order a second GPS input cable to connect to the FRS connection for the radar detector

You will hear all inputs from CB GPS and Radar they will interrupt any other audio source including your MP3 player

However not sure the 1490 has a speaker out connection

Correct, no speaker out on 1490, but

I thought that was an issue if you wanted to talk to the gps, ie dial number by voice or answer by voice. Do I need a speaker out on the gps to hear it? Duh maybe so but tell me so I can know for sure, then I'll get a gps with speaker jack thanks Randy

If you have one with a jack (needs to work bothways) you should be able to hook up to the GL2way. Or just get a bluetooth unit for the GPS and phone.

Glad you mentioned the cell phone, I forgot to!!

So yes I want to include my bluetooth cell in the mess,I mean the set up. Would it be better to get a gps with jack, if so not a problem ,but how would I use the phone? It has to come through the gps right?

Hi Friend,

Rather than retype a lot of info on this, I'll refer you to various previous links on the subject. By the way, if you want to hear your gps you will have to get one with an audio out jack. If you want to talk to someone on the phone via the bluetooth function from your gps to your phone, then you will need one with a microphone input jack and use the mic splitter cable, or a bluetooth interface cable.

Here's the links - They may be more than you want to read, but I think they will answer your questions.

And this link is for the garmin nuvi comparison chart, very helpful for determining what models offer what.
