The tank is polyethelene. The soldering gun trick works well and my old Craftsmqn heavy duty soldering gun came with a spade shaped tip just for the purpose of plastic mending. You can take a piece of scrap polyethelene and use it like a welding rod to fill voids. When you clean and examine the tank, you may find the leak is just the gromette or a crack where they fitted the spout onto the tank. Do be prepared to install with new tubes and take care to route the tubes away from the left O2 sensor. The overflow courses upward and then U-turns to go back down and through the belly pan. A little heat shield on the tubes in the area of the O2 sensor is not a bad idea either.
