I thought I would go into the woodshop and make a real wood piece for the wing. The wood is called Ziricote from South America. I thought it looked cool with six coats of spar varnish on it (gloss).

There is a lot to be said of wood if it's done right. This one looks good. I may do the same. My XJS Jaguar has a wood trim interior as does all Jaguars and it's a cut above for sure.

I appreciate all the positive comments!!

I was going to use teak instead of the Zericote, but my wife liked the look of this better. The teak matched the Goldwing emblems on the side covers, but the black streaks in the Zericote matched the black paint on the bike real nice.
I figure I might as well use the leftover wood and make a couple covers for the brake and clutch fluids-both same thickness.
Im off to the woodshop!

Bobpack,

Looks really nice!

Now you have a side business to hold you over during the long, cold Wisconsin winter months that are just around the corner! LOL!

THat looks AWSOME!

Now, how much of that stuff would you have to build up to carve a dash accent panel? Instument cluster accent, ignition area accent, etc.!
A whole dash would be realy awsome!

I wish I had that kind of talent! My Grandfather tried to teach me woodworking (He was good!) but I was too young, and he was taken home before I got old enough to have the real interest and patients!
