Has anyone had a rear end go out on a 1800. Mine has 75,000+
on it and I belive it got a bad bearing. I've got another located and
will change it this weekend. Would like to know whats in store for me and
if it would be best to change the whole swing arm and all
or just the rear end as the replacement is from a 03 triked bike.
Thanks for any and all info.

Just replace the final drive and shaft if you got it.

Remove the wheel, r/muffler, brake disc, loosen brake hose clamp, caliper, and 4 bolts holding drive onto swingarm. Not a tough job......

As Red has said. It's a straight forward job. If you got final drive with rotor it's even simpler.

Mine hasn't gone out but I replaced it anyways at 180.000 miles. However I've found that the bearing of the output shaft of the engine seems to be gone which is mucho work.
