While changing the tire on my friends bike, we noticed the steel inserts that are pressed into the wheel were missing. He was used this wheel for several years and we have changed tires several times, but we haven't noticed the inserts before. This wheel was chromed several years age. We assume the inserts were removed when the wheel was being prepped for plating. We will try to contact the vendor. Anybody have experience with this?

They are there. Put a magnet in the hole. If it sticks, you can rest easy.

Measured the diameter of the hole in my spare wheel. It's About 12mm. His bolt holes measure 17 mm.

Sounds like they're definitely not there. I wouldn't use that wheel again until you guys locate some inserts. Honda doesn't list them in the parts diagram. Maybe a dealer can make some phone calls and get them from Honda.
