My wife and I just traded the Burgman 650 in on a red 2012 GW with ABS. We'll pick it up Aug. 1st. We just had our 30th wedding anniversary but didn't go anywhere. Now, we can go Everywhere!

Suggestions for good NC destination?

Howdy Elrod!

We live between Hickory and Gastonia, about 1 1/4 hours from downtown Charlotte. Thank you for the great links. We are already planning some rides.

Yesterday, we needed a motorcycle fix so we went down to the dealership to sit on our bike. Ah! That will keep us going a little longer. If you know anyone looking for a well maintained Suzuki Burgman, let me know. :yes1:

Until then, ride safe and God Bless.

Congrats on the newest. Some great riding in your area. Just get on it and go. If you're in the Myrtle Beach area I'll be glad to ride with you here...on my old '05. lol

Here are a few to get you thinking. As others have said, just head out the driveway and point it somewhere, especially west and north of your location, and you can't go wrong.

All but one (I think) have at least a North Carolina component.

Enjoy.

Congrats on the new scoot.

Ride safely.

You've got a lot of studying to do.

I'd suggest asking your dealer if he can give you a set of manuals off another 2012. He could keep the ones coming in with your bike.

I'd also suggest buying a cheap 4 or 8 Gig. USB memory stick. ($7 or $15)
They work just as good as an IPod.

Load it up with your favorite MP3 or WMA music files. MP3 prefered.

You're gonna love the stereo.

The bike comes with a memory card for the navigation, but if you wanted you could buy a spare and load it up with any routes.

I keep two. One on the bike and one on the computer.

On any of them you have to create a direstory named Garmin and, inside that a subdirectory named GPX. Any routes you make or downloaded have to be .GPX.

There is a lot to learn before you get to entering routes, though.

Good luck with it.

Congrats on the soon to be new Wing. North Carolina is a great state for riding. Forget the destination, just pick a direction and ride. Enjoy.
