How hard is it to remove the exhaust protectors? Do you have to totally remove the lower front cowl?

Remove the nuts from the rear lower cowls when they are cool.. if you try when they are hot.. they are prone to snap off the studs.. I think its a good idea to soak them with a penetrating oil also..

There are a couple of rubber grommets towards the front (on the inside where the chrome pseudo-exhaust pipes are) and rear, that may pop off when removing the covers so watch for them so you don't lose them. Also, when replacing make sure get the cover in those tabs.
