Every once in a while the reverse function will not fully engauge. It sounds like the gears are not fully meshed and the bike just jerks. I re-set the rev switch and all is fine.

Here is what to try. Remove, clean, inspect and lube the reverse shift arm assembly. Also, inspect and adjust the reverse cables.
