Yes, that's a clue that your starter/reverse switch is probably fried or dirty. Your starter switch turns off the headlights when it turns on the starter. There is another circuit that keeps the headlights on when in reverse.... a new switch to check.Also, at all times, the headlights are off.
Any ideas?
Make sure you us a #2 phillips inside the switchbox. Tho the screws look small, they take a #2 phillips or you'll strip 'em. Click the pic for more info. GL1800 info is on the bottom of the page.
