OK, check the cables with it in neutral first and on the center stand. The bottom cable is the reverse cable and the top cable is the neutral cable and it should have no play in it when you are in neutral and the reverse cable should have a little clearance. (First diagram) after checking that, put it into reverse and check the tabs on the lost motion plate (Second diagram). The tab should just lift off of the shelf. The picture below the diagrams is what my 04s looks like when it is properly adjusted. If the clearance doesn't appear like the second diagram and picture, then loosen the jam nut on the reverse cable and tighten it just enough to create the gap shown. Once you do this, cycle it back to neutral and double check the clearance on the reverse cable and then cycle it back into reverse and check the tab gap again. If it looks like the picture and the clearance is good like the first diagram, then test it and see if it still grinds the gears.looks like I got troubles with reverse movement from time to time.

sometimes I feel it spinning with noisy sound with no effect.
