We have lost a local celebrity, Earl Thomas Conley. For those that never heard of him he was a country western singer. He grew up about four miles from me. I never knew him but I know some of his family and went to school with them. He was a lot older than me.

Conley scored 34 entries on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart, 25 of which reached the top 10. Of those, 18 hit No. 1.

Saw him at the BEACHWAGON in myrtle beach about 22 years ago with Huey Lewis , my Pop was a big Fan , Dad knew his stuff ! loved the show, he handed out Rose colored glasses to several ladies there , Classy funny guy ! ( OOPS) WRONG CONLEY, SORRY!

Sorry to hear of the passing of ETC. He was a one of a kind artist and will be missed. RIP Earl!!!
