to go for a 20 mile ride with a friend who just bought a
2006 Sportster.... When I got there, he was polishing it
Told him that's the difference between Harley and Honda :p
Bike has aftermarket straight pipes, I let him ride about
a hundred yards ahead of me and cranked up the radio,
it wasn't too obnoxious that way!
Pretty bike, but not my style.

I ride with a Harley friend too and He is always asking me if my bike is running! LOL But he rides the heck out of that Electra Glide. He use to ride Wings all the time but when we were in Iraq, Harley had a deal on bikes for military and Honda didn't. So, he bought the Harley.

The wife and I ride our 1800 VTX two-up a lot.

I am not a H-D fan. But, if I 'needed' a solo bike for general riding, a Sportster 1200 Custom would be high on the list. It will outrun the VTX 1300, is lighter, handles pretty darn well. and looks great!

Joe T.

I dont care what brand it is, I wouldnt ride behind any loud bike, I much prefer the sewing machine sound of a wing.

If you put the person with loud pipes in back the noise level is less.
