I'm from Ingleside, TX. Currently in MN and this Saturday we will be heading to the Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Beartooth, Chief Joseph and from there going to Glacier National Park. Have the route figured out between MN and Glacier pretty much but don't have the rest of the way,-- Glacier to Yosemite to Corpus Christi, TX. Any help appreciated. Will be pulling a trailer with a passenger. Don't want to run the interstates any more than we have to. Also would like to stay in the mountains/cooler weather as much as possible.
Any help appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Don't know how much time you have. You could take US-2 west out of Glacier over to Newport, Wa. Then catch WA-20 over the Cascades all the way to the Pacific Ocean then down US-101 into California. From there some of our Northern California friends could help you out.

There is one very nice route that I just took from the coast of Washington to Missoula MT, Hwy 12. The west end of this route is good and MT Raineer National Park is the highlight, east end from Lewiston ID to Missouls MT is great. Set the cruise control and sight see, pickup the pace and enjoy the great road, you decide, but either way it is a great road. Road is in very good shape, runs along the river most of the way.

Rainbow Chaser, you are right, highway 12 is a good route to take too. We were over the Lolo pass area west of Missoula last year and it was in great shape. Would be good to ride it again all the way to the coast. Would be good to ride 20 one way and 12 the other if you had time.

We did US101, great road, last year and was looking to stay more inland, preferably mountainous to avoid alot of the heat. We have plenty of time, no time table.

I think PingJockey has the plan! 12 west, 20 east, 20 west, 12 east, great way to spend a few days and get no place and I've never ridden a road that wasn't different going the opposite direction.

Then from there, it's a bit of a challenge to both stay in the mountians, and avoid interstate, as you're so far inland.
