I'm new to goldwings as I just bought a 2012 red goldwing. Wanted to know what everybodies RPMs were at cruising speed 70 mph. Love the bike as it sure was a step from the 2 cylinder cruisers.

Would that be actual 70 or what the speedo is reading.. they are known to be about 5 mph fast. I think when I display 75mph which is 70mph via GPS i turn a little higher RPM something like 3300 give or take a few rpms.

When i show 70 via speedo.. i turn about 3000 like above.

I did a test a couple of weeks ago and my wifes 05 bike has a speedohealer on it and at 3000rpm she is running 70mph and a friends bike was 73 mph and mine was 68.A honda rep at the Davis Rally said Honda has changed some gears on the 2012 but I am not sure of his info but the 3 bikes were all different.By the way the 05 with the speedohealer is dead on with the gps and when we are riding my 2012 odomiter does not register the same miles as the 05 or the gps so maybe the speedometer is right but the milage is not

RPMs

Thanks for the replies. My 2012 is running 3000 rpms at 70 mph. My speedo is right on as I checked with GPS. Thanks again.
