had to fix something so i removed the saddle and markland backrest on the 1800
4 bolts thru the saddle looking a bit short
its 8mm metric but 1 is a allen head and the other hex on each side
also the lenght is just enough ,about 3 threads in the frame :wrong:
does anyone know the lenght its suppose to be?
should it be 4 allen head bolts? in chrome?:joke:

The seat should be fastened with 4 allen head bolts. Information provided from HDL oem parts site page. I don't know anything about the Markland backrest as far as how it's mounted or if the saddle bolts go through it, if so perhaps a longer bolt would be needed. The info below is for the stock oem seat and hand rails

size: BOLT, SOCKET (8X70)
part#: 96600-08070-17
qty: 4
price: $2.50ea.

the allan bolt is 8x100 and the hex is 8x90
and they a to short "i think"
i know, just buy a few longer ones, but i would like to know if anyone has the same backrest and also this strange hex and allan head combination
and afcours "what is the size"..............:joke:

If I had to guess, my guess would be that the chrome bolts are either custom or came with the Markland back rest.

The OEM bolts are black and allen head.
