I recently purchased an 05 GL 1800, and a GL 1800A Service Manual w/ETS for the 01 - 04 models. Does anyone know if there are significant differences between the 04 model and the 05?

I likely will not be doing any complicated stuff with the Wing, but would like to know if there is anything I need to be careful about.

Thanks to those who have time to respond. I appeciate it. :D

The same manual for 01 through 05, the change was made in 06.

The parts manual part of the CD is different - the 01-05 manual has the painted parts numbers for the 05, and the 04 manual does not.

Thanks to each of you for responding. Seems as though there is nothing of any significance to be concerned about. I appreciate your help. :D

For the record:

There ARE differences between the 2005 and the 2001-2004 models.

For instance, for the 2001-2004 model years, the trouble codes are called MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) codes. In the 2005 model, they are called DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) and can contain more information than the MIL codes did.

There may be other differences.

Differences? Yes, a few. 05 has lit switches on the handlebars. 05 came with a vent in the window. There was a change in the wiring for the intercom. Interesting, but on the CD for the 01-05, the parts list does not include the 05. But on the DVD for the 06-08, the parts list does include the 05. Go figure.
