When the article came out in Wing World on the rear shock, I checked mine and it was not loading until #10. I have an '01 with 38K. This bothered me, but I had watched Fred's DVD on the servicing procedure.
I took the plunge today and serviced it as per the DVD. It now loads as soon as "up" is selected. It is not a difficult job, certainly not the most difficult job I've ever performed on the bike.
I didn't do a road test yet as I am fixing to replace the rear tire, so I left the rear fender removed.

watch for leak

after i did mine it works great with 1 problem, i did not replace the washers with new but tried the heating them up trick but it did not work this time and the system began leaking on the top bolt on the pump, i went to a hydralics shop in town and they matched up the washers and gave me 4 for free, i think he must know what honda charges for parts? i then replaced and no leaks now, just thought it may be an idea to watch for this if you didn't replace with new washers!
