I ran a set of Shinko tires to failure. The front tire was looking pretty used up while in Rogers and while on the way home I began to notice a weird sort of wobble at low speeds. I figured it was due to the Z shaped ridge on the center of the front tire and kept a close eye on it. Turns out it was the rear tire! Plenty of rubber left on it but a big blister had formed on it.

Overall:
  1. The tires handled very well and did well on wet surfaces
  2. The front tire wore out quicker than the rear
  3. I got close to 8000 miles out of them.
I will be going back to Metz.

Hard riding or just "normal" riding?

I have not tried that brand, and, for the extra money, will probably stick with one of the better known brands when replacement for my ME880's comes due.

Considering you were coming back from a weekend of Arkansas eating, it's amazing you only got a blister on the rear tire and that you got 8K out of the set!! ;)
