Howdy,

Just drained the fluids out of both forks for replacement of suspension with Traxxion springs and Race Tech Gold Valves.

Interestingly the right fork fluid was not bad but the right side fluid was black and sulfury nasty smelling stuff. I wonder why the difference?

sbg,,,I think you meant to say left side was black & smelly.
This is normal on the GL1800. I think it has something to do with the
anti dive system.

Change mine ever year and it is nasty ever time. Both sides on my bike are black and smell bad. :?

yes did mean to say left side

the reason I'm so sensitive to the smell is cause I got the oil all over my legs

Mr genius was playing with the bolts for the anti-dive before draining the fluid from the bottom and got squirted with that black fouls s**** :lol:

The left seal usually goes first , change the seal while apart both sides,allowing dirt in

new oil will be from Traxxion to go with their new springs

thanks snowman, replacing bottom bushings and seals

Good deal I use BEL-Ray 15 weight fluid but that is just My preference
