Well, I guess some of us now have extra jobs!!!

What we will do is book places for 2010 based upon what happens this year. How about I have a sign in sheet at the Ridge Top lobby. We'll get some feedback. One question will be the number expecting to attend in 2010. I figure that we can fill the Ridge Top & Microtel.
John,
Great Idea for 2010 and out years. Lets go ahead, while you are signing people in 2010 and let's have a contest on the Name of the annual event. Every body could contribute their entry names at sign in and vote once names at one of joint gatherings this time. We can leave there with the name in place for the outyears.

Might let everybody know that I have reservations at Microtel. Thinking this might persuade some of you to shy away. I'll understand.:joke:
Hey Joe....,

I want to hook up on any of your rides. From what I hear, it's just the right speed for me.

I received this email from Connie this afternoon:

To all the Gold Wing owners coming to Bryson City in June.

The Microtel Inn & Suites welcomes each and every one of you. There is a restaurant with a lounge adjacent to the Microtel.

I have received 23 emails so far. There is still availability at the Microtel.

The controller has a program on my lap top so that I can make reservations. We will be downloading those in the Microtel system during training in about 6 weeks. Tonight I will be emailing confirmations for those who have given me credit card info by phone. There are a few I have not been able to contact by phone at this time. We seem to be playing phone tag.

Area info:

Bryson City is a gateway community as the Great Smoky Mountains National Park comes almost to the edge of town. This is the 75th Anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There are special events planned to celebrate the 75th Anniversary. Also, Bryson City is the Adventure Capital of the Smokies. You will experience your own adventure as you ride of byways of the beautiful Smoky Mountains. There is also whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River, jet boat rides on Lake Fontana, hiking on the Appalachian Trail or other trails in the national park, fishing, and even a train ride on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. After a full day of activities a beautiful sunset awaits you.

If you're planning on attending this event, you better get your room quick. It's filling up fast!

This Gets Better!

Just called Connie at Microtel to introduce myself and get her OK on the web posting. She has informed me that they are planning a reception for us on the 17th as we sign in. I will follow up on this in April/May, and perhaps they will include anyone regardless of where they stay just so we can get to know one another.

She also will book the entire Microtel for 2010! To be fair, I also asked her to give us a final date to be either in or out, as it is not fair to her business to not have a commitment.

I think that this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Man you guys are doing a great job:bow:. It's hard to believe that an almost off-handed remark by WimpyHonda ("Lets just have us Smokey Mtn Hoot kindly like the Rockys Gold. Pick some place outside of Knoxville close to the great riding") back in the middle of Dec. has turned into all this. I've always wondered how this sort of thing gets started and fleshes out. There's a lot of talent on this forum.
