I spoke to Connie this afternoon and she sent me the following email so those of you who want to go ahead and make reservations (and cancel your reservations at Sleep Inn), she's now ready for you. Be sure to mention "Smoky Mountain Ride In" in your message.

CLICK HERE for the link to the original post regarding Microtel with all the pricing information.

Here is the email from Connie:

If the people who would like reservations for the above June dates would email me at [email protected] I will make reservations and email them a confirmation. If they do not wish to give me a credit card number in the email, give me a phone number and name and I will call them and obtain the proper information.

We look forward to having the group stay with us. Any questions etc. please direct to me by email.

Sincerely,

Connie Southard, General Manager
Microtel Inn & Suites – Bryson City, NC

Please note: If you would like to call Connie, her number is 828.488.9337

Quick Update - 2/4/09: If you send Connie an email after 6am Friday morning, she will not process the reservation or call you back until Monday evening or Tuesday morning. She will be out of town this weekend. That is ONLY this weekend, 2/7 & 2/8.

Lori...yes!!! Steve.....:roll::roll::roll:
I have two reservations. One at the Hill Top(waiting list #6 when it started ) and one at the Microtel as a backup. The lady at the Hill Top said she didn't expect any cancellations until it is closer to event time.

what is this about? Can I come play? I have the need to ride the smokies this year....Please....

So, really would someone school me on this gettogether?

Just because I look young does not mean I cannot ride like the wind....

Go to Bald Eagle's (John Garner) website and get the 411 on this. It was put together by some of the guys of this forum because the Honda Hoot was canceled. So they took it and ran with the idea of us having our own "Ride In". Here's the link http://jkgraphics.com On the left side of the page you'll see "Smoky Mountain Ride In". Click on that link and all will be revealed. There's also a couple of threads about it in this forum including the one from Bartman, which includes ride route maps. Come on and get onboard, time's wasting.
thanks

Thank you for the info, and I did find some other info with the search option. Checking into the option now.
Those interested that get ROAD RUNNER Motorcycle Touring & Travel magazine (I know Barnes and Noble carry). They have Bryson City, NC as their Shamrock Tour highlight this month, (Jan/Feb). Interesting article about the area and roads.

I received this email from Connie this afternoon:

To all the Gold Wing owners coming to Bryson City in June.

The Microtel Inn & Suites welcomes each and every one of you. There is a restaurant with a lounge adjacent to the Microtel.

I have received 23 emails so far. There is still availability at the Microtel.

The controller has a program on my lap top so that I can make reservations. We will be downloading those in the Microtel system during training in about 6 weeks. Tonight I will be emailing confirmations for those who have given me credit card info by phone. There are a few I have not been able to contact by phone at this time. We seem to be playing phone tag.

Area info:

Bryson City is a gateway community as the Great Smoky Mountains National Park comes almost to the edge of town. This is the 75th Anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. There are special events planned to celebrate the 75th Anniversary. Also, Bryson City is the Adventure Capital of the Smokies. You will experience your own adventure as you ride of byways of the beautiful Smoky Mountains. There is also whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River, jet boat rides on Lake Fontana, hiking on the Appalachian Trail or other trails in the national park, fishing, and even a train ride on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. After a full day of activities a beautiful sunset awaits you.

I received an email from Connie on 02/04/09 but none of the computers in my house could open the attachment. Anyone else have this problem?

What kind of file was it Wayne. What was the extension on the file?

It's a docx file...you can open it with the lastest ver. of MS Office.
It was a docx and I don't have the latest microsoft office. I guess I'll forward it to my work email and open it there. Thanks
If you have a verified copy of Office on your computer you can get the update free from Microsoft's website.
Download a free MS word document viewer and the update that allows it to read docx files.
