I'm installing a Hondaline spoiler this weekend. I would like the LED's to be both running lights and brake lights. I don't want them to modulate. It looks to me like 2 diodes and a resistor would get the job done. One diode in series with the brake light feed to the spoiler and one diode in series with a resistor in the running light feed to the spoiler.

Has anyone done this mod?? I hate to pay $25 for an aftermarket kit consisting of $3 worth of parts.

A 780 ohm resisor and one diode will do what you want.

Install the diode with the anode hooked into to the stop lamp ckt. Install one end of the resistor to a tail lamp power feed.

Connect the opposite end of the resistor and cathode end of the diode in series with the power feed side of the spoiler light. Works like a charm ... Cost=about $1......... Rob

Stop / Running light hookup

I installed LED Stop Lamps on my mud flap.
I tapped into the wiring under seat.
C-14 connector (gray) pin 12 (Grn/Red wire) for brake.
C-15 connector (gray) pin 5 (Brn/Wht wire) for running light.
Ground is: ... on C-14 connector pin7 (Grn wire) or C-15 connector pin 6 (Grn wire)
The connectors are in two different rubber sleeves. One close to front near frame, the other is towards the rear near trunk.

See link below for pix's of finished project.
