Anyone here replaced the steering head bearings on their air bag goldwing? I have a few questions.

I have installed them on air bag models. They are the same as any other GL1800.
The only difference is the air bag has a three piece shelter vs a single piece shelter.

What do have questions about?

Is it necessary to remove the top shelter? I really don't want to mess around with the air bag.

Do you know why they don't make chrome rotor covers for the air bag models?

no you don't have to remove the shelter. An airbagger is the easiest to do steering head bearing on.

To my knowledge, no one makes chrome covers for an airbaggr and no, nothing fits ... people have tried.

I recently changed them on my 2008 airbag and didn't have to remove the shelter.

If you've ever considered getting Fred's DVDs from angleridevideos, he walks you through the entire process.

I also recommend checking with cycledude on this forum if you need to buy a steering stem tool.
