On the way home today from a ride I was behind a guy on a crotch rocket in bumper to bumper traffic on the interstate.I see him stick his left leg out, thinking he's just stretching. Then I see him bring his right leg over the tank and he stands up beside the bike sliding on his feet. What are these kids thinking? One slip and he would have been run over several times by traffic running 65 mph.:22yikes:

In south Florida you can see that just about every night on I-95 and I-595. They do it at night because they wear cleats on their shoes and the sparks are actually impressive. But, they are complete idiots for doing it.

Saw this a few years back.A big group heading east on WA-2.We meet a sportbike rider heading west. He jumps off like you describe and makes a big show of sparks. Must of had something on his soles to make the sparks.
I probably might have done something like that back in the day if I had thought about it:shrug:

There were several board members on that ride, who remembers?

Must be just one of the reasons we have fire trucks. But also must say I would have tried it in my younger years had I thought of it. After all, I did the stand on the seat thing because I saw it on TV.

We were heading south on 395 in the Calif Desert, three bikes, doing maybe 70-75 and a guy pulls up beside us in the dirt on the side of the road, a trail with whoops, on a KTM, no shirt, just helmet, riding pants and boots, pulls it up on the back wheel and escorts us for about 2 miles. Front wheel never touched the ground. We enjoyed that. We all used to race in the desert. We were impressed.

Lots of folks think we are really dumb for riding a motorcycle period...
in fact ... the local ambulance service paramedics call them "donor cycles"

Its all in the eye of the beholder... so who has the right to judge ????
