This video was really just an experiment. I mounted a tripod to the top of my Bushtec trailer, attached a Sony video camera to it and faced it to the rear. Royal Blue and I were so impressed with Nemo Road that we knew this could be cool. Nemo Road heads south out of Sturgis to a little town called Nemo. It is one of the neatest roads you’ll ever ride. Besides the great scenery it has some of the best sweeping turns you’ll ever ride. It has a posted speed limit of 45mph but the first time Royal and I rode it we went for broke. Good thing we didn’t come across any LEOS or we might have been in big trouble. When we did the video we kept a slower pace. Let me know what you think. Just a note. The original video was well over 10 minutes long. Crank you're sound up!

Here's the full 10 min. ride with all it's sweeping turns.

Thanks, for the video. My kind of road - hence, my slogan.

I love the sweepers, when you can see sufficiently ahead to react, if neccessary, but still relish the lean and rapid switch through the S's.

Great job! The trailer mount and letter box view really enhanced the experience. Have you worked on an overhead, forward looking shot?

MAN WHAT A VIDEO!!!!! Watching it at work (huh?), and I thought I was going to wear out the rewind button. Loved it!! Good video and excellent choice of background music. We lived in Black Hawk SD (08/94 - 10/99) and rode almost every weekend (lots of nice winter days). Some of the BEST roads and prettiest country I've EVER ridden. The Black Hills, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, etc, etc easily within a weekend trip. And the best part; Nemo Road is only one of MANY roads in the area that seems to have been made for motorcycles. 99.9% are well paved and well maintained. Thanks for the video and the memories of the area. I will return for a week or so at a time and I will add these links to my favorites.

Doug,
That was awesome!
Having only one bike behind you was a good idea, that way you could enjoy watching him position and lean without being distracted by other bikes.

Not sure what time of day it was, but when I went through there at 2 p.m. on Monday the traffic was just as light.

If you ever get out there again, do the same thing on Needles Hwy. :p

Thanks,
Frank

cool

Wow -- came out great... wish we would have taped the ride the other way during daylight hours rather than dusk. Thanks for putting it together Doug! We did have a great time on that road didn't we.

ps: we slowed down after we passed those bikes so Doug could have us all in the video.

enjoy the ride,
Royal

Doug,

That turned out great! Looks like you had a good time for sure. Yep, Nemo Road is a keeper, as is the Vonaker Canyon road from there over to Sturgis (and back).

Hope that you can make it out to Colorado next year.

NICE JOB,great ride.

Now wouldn't it be cool to have a 360 degree rotatable camera that you could pan to your view?

Brought a smile to my face recalling our trip to the Black Hills last year. You did a great job! Loved the captions.

That is one great advert for showing the stability of a Bushtec trailer.
Not only is the Bushtec stable in the wide sweepers, it is also very stable well north of 100 mph on the roads up around Rapid City, ND. I know two guys who have posted in this thread who can attest to that statement.
