Only method that I know that will work without ruining the adhesive is to take a hot air gun (low setting) or a hair dryer and heat the trim up. That will soften the adhesive and allow for removal. Also works on getting labels off of items you buy. Comes off pretty clean without leaving a sticky residue (usually).
Low heat and a constant steady pull on the trim part. Be very careful with heat, too much it does bubble paint and the trim itself which is mostly chromed plastic the coating will shrink and bubble and tear.
WD 40 works well to remove the residue around the lights.
As for re-use, well that is a real hassle, you have to get the double stick tape off and that is a fight.
To re stick use 3m red backed tape, the tape itself is gray, that stuff holds well. Clean area first with some kind of cleaner and unless you want it to come off it never will.
