I just thought it would be fun to share the little trip I'll start on tomorrow. This is a combination of work and fun. But since I get to ride the Goldwing, it's sure to be more fun than work.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, I leave Grand Rapids for a 6 PM business meeting in Columbus, OH. S&T says this leg will be 390 miles. Leave at 10 AM and ride for about 6 hours and I should be there.

On Wednesday I plan to ride to Providence, RI where the conference I need to attend will be on Thur, Fri, Sat. It starts with a golf outing on Thursday. Yup, got my clubs loaded in the trailer. This leg of the trip maps out at 739 miles. It will be a full day of riding. I hope the weather isn't too bad.

After the conference ends I will ride to Woodbourne, NY to vist with my good buddy, the one and only Bulldog. This leg is only 222 miles. Shouldn't be too tough. I wonder if I'll have to sleep in the garage again?

Between Sunday evening and Monday, I need to ride to Manassas, VA for another business meeting in the late afternoon. If I leave early in the morning, I should be able to make the 369 miles pretty easy.

When I leave Manassas, VA I need to get to Charlotte, NC. It is only 402 miles, but I hope I have enough time to ride some of Skyline Drive and nothern section of the Blueridge Parkway. I need to be in Charlotte for a meeting on Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning.

When I leave Charlotte, I only need to ride 183 miles to Cherokee, NC where I'll meet up with Hedo. I hope they have a good supply of Coronas, because I'll be ready for a few. We'll spend Wednesday night at the casino in Cherokee. I wonder what we'll find to do there.

Up to this point I'll have about 2,224 miles on this little excursion. Over the next three days we'll surely get a few hundred miles riding the BRP, the Cherohala, and whatever other interesting roads catch our attention.

On Thursday we'll move into the the Red Roof Inn in Hendersonville and "stake out" an area in the parking lot. If you're in the area, be sure to look for the Corona Umbrella over my trailer and cooler in the parking lot. There'll be some cold ones in there.

Friday night we'll be at the BBQ at HDL. Sure to be a great time seeing old and new friends. Look forward to seeing Hal, Lamont, Chef, etc, etc,
I wonder what time the food will show up this year?

Then it's back to the parking lot for some more lounging. Pizzas will be sure to show up about midnight. I hope we get to bed before 3 AM this year. Without Dawg there to keep us up, we might do it.

On Saturday, Hedo and I will head north. He is a great riding partner. 732 miles later, I'll be back home.

All together it should be lots of fun, lots of riding (about 3,500 mile), and a little bit of work. Seems about right to me. And since someone else is paying for the miles, more is better.

Life is good.

I should have been an Educator. I could get used to your lifestyle CJ.

Looking forward to your visit. Corona's are on ICE.

Sounds like a nice trip, but will your clubs actually fit "in" the Aluma??

Ride Safe
Yup, just gotta take the driver out of the bag and put it in the trailer separate. Then everything fits just fine, and I have just the standard length trailer.

I'm confused. How can the driver be inside the trailer?

CJS...........thanks. I keep looking at those, but 13 cf sounds miniscule. I figure if you're going to tow something, it might as well be bigger. Our local dealers don't have any in stock to actually play with. But, now you got me thinking again. Thanx

I am green with envy, I'd give up my slimey defense contractor gig for whatever career allows ya to do that kinda trip right there. We did approximately 350 miles on Saturday and that was just a good taste.
CJS,
Have a safe trip, make sure ya eat right, be extremely safe and don't forget to do all those things that yer Momma told ya to do especially the under garment daily change just in case thing.

Hey Cj,
Sounds like a great trip that you are going on but I have a few words of advice for you.

If you play slots don't waste your time at Cherokee just open the door and throw some money on the floor and go have a beer you will have more enjoyment. LOL don't ask me how I know!!!!

And Hedo I hope the rain stops soon in our neck of the woods.

If it's Tuesday night and you're reading this in Columbus, I hope you rode out from under the rain here in MI. Was out in Providence last week visiting Alan Weiss and had dinner in a nice little place called Camille on the south side. (Federal Hill area). I recommend it. Stay dry. We're teaching this week and I don't know for sure, but might show up for the BBQ.

The trips that have a definte goal in mind for places to be are great. Sounds like yours is that way. Hope you do not get into too much rain. It looks like you will have some though.

Be careful, have fun and we will be seeing you in a few days.

If you find yourself in need of lodging on your NY to VA leg, let me know. Not to far off of 83 south if you plan to be close to that, and you would be welcomed for sure.

Thanks for the encouragement and invitations. Nice to have friends to help out. The weather today was not very good in Ohio. Had to heat up the Gerbings and wear the rain suit all afternoon. Unfortunately it doesn't look any better for tomorrow for the ride to Providence. My pretty red and chrome bike is a dirty mess. Oh, well is was still fun riding and watching all the folks stare and wonder who's the crazy guy riding in the rain, and why is he smiling and looking like he's enjoying himself.

Looks like I've got some bike cleaning and polishing to do. Gotta do mine, then Hedo's, might even have to do Chef's again. It probably hasn't been cleaned since last year.
