Just my opinion but,
I think riding without a helmet is like skydiving without a parachute.
doesn't matter until you hit the ground.
I also remember talking with a Dr. friend about riding without a helmet. He said the helmet laws increased his practice and I asked him how that was. He said, before the helmet requirement , they were dead on the scene. Now he has to patch them up. ( tongue in cheek)
Enough soap box for me, lets ride, it is going to be 60 degrees in Tennessee today and I got the get the wing out.

Still blows my mind that, 7 years ago, I got a $200 ticket for not wearing my seatbelt in Texas(forgot to put it on once), but it was ok if I went without a helmet there(only tried that once and felt major unsafe).

The irony is that it's a lot easier to forget to wear a seatbelt than it is to forget to put on your helmet, and I'd guess that a non-belted driver is less likely to die or suffer brain damage than a helmeted rider...

OK..Sorry..Come to Texas have a great time on some of the best roads, best food and best Rally's in the USA and don't worry about a Helmet it is ok as long as you have the insurance or the safety class certificate...

When I was a kid you could ride right on to Fort Bliss, at El Paso. Me and my buddy got stopped, because the base required eye protection, and we just had our 3/4 helmets with no face shields. Looking back, that was pretty dumb, but then I was much younger and probably dumber back then. Does anyone know if you can even ride on to the base without a security check anymore?

Me either, but I wouldn't ride without a helmet. I have a friend who's a doctor. He calls anyone who rides without a helmet an organ donor. If you do ride without a helmet you will need a sticker....it says "stupid" on it. :lol:

Actually, I do both. When I wear a helmet, it is only for comfort. The last thing I want to be is a broken up cripple with a functioning mind. On yeah, I guess I'm pretty lucky as I've logged over a million miles in my 47 years of riding. BTW, I rode I-10 across TX and I-40 on the way back with no tickets. One other thing, I'm not STUPID. My choices are my rights, just like you cling to the right to ridicule those who don't share you opinion.
