The bass player in our band spent 4 hours detailing his Harley. Cleaning, waxing & polishing every nook & crannie...lastly he shined up the tires with Armor All..... Fired that mother up & went roaring out of his driveway....You guessed it...down he went !!!!

And they call us drummers dumb!!!

Who!! Who called you drummers dumb! Why, you'd think anyone would know better than to say that to someone with a stick in his hand. ;)

I also play electric bass in a band. I'm stuck with 4 strings, no smart enough to graduate to 5 or 6. Some nights I can barely handle 4. Seems there are a lot of Wing riders that are also musicians (or at least claim to be!) :D

Played RR in clubs and bars for 15 years before I decided I was sick of practice, practice and more of that stuff. Its a tough life. Tired of lugging my gear. The work definetly outweighs the glamore. Bass, Drums and Sax.

After about 5 years of No playing , I picked up my bass about two months ago. Funny how you really suck bad if you don't practise and play a lot. My fingers only lasted about 30 minutes before they hurt.

Played the sax bout three weeks ago too. I remember better then the bass though, My lips got tired in just a few minutes, I actually had to shave down the reed a lot to keep playing even though it sounded like crap.

The Bass Player....

I play drums in 2 bands in St. Louis. I play in a high profile Elvis showband..... Johnny Harra Jr. and the Silverbird Band.
This guy is 26 years old and sounds exactly like Elvis Presley, & looks like him too. Our next gig is at The President Casino in St. Louis on Mothers Day May 9th.
If anyone is in this area and wants to see it, you will need to get tickets in advance at The President.... it always sells out early.

The other band is "FALLEN ANGEL", a cover band playing Fleetwood Mac, among other things.

It is a lot of fun, but playing out constantly cuts into the riding time, my Illusion Red 01 only has 8000 miles on it....you cant ride when you are exhausted, it's not safe.
Hopefully we will get to go to Glacier National Park this August, there should be good bike roads there !

How are bass violins like parents?

Humidity makes them cranky, and they are hard to get in and out of cars.

And yeah, we musicians get paid for moving the equipment. The other stuff we do for free. It ain't hardly work. That's why we call it playing. :D
