Dumb Goldwing Riders really are out there amongst us!! I usually think of good, smart, riders when I think of Goldwing Riders. I mean, we’re the sensible ones, right? The ones who don’t care what “bikers” say about our choice of bikes, the most likely riders to wear AGATT, users of hiviz clothing, and light our bikes like Christmas trees in order to be seen.
BUT tonight on I-10 between Baton Rouge and Hammond Louisiana, two Goldwing riders were some of the dumbest riders I’ve ever seen. First the traffic was typical I-10 nearly number to bumper doing 75mph and it was already dark. These riders, separated by a couple of 18 wheelers, riding in the center of the lane not more than 20ft behind those trucks. Then if that was not enough, the rear rider was flashing his highs at the 18 wheeler to get him to move over, which was impossible because of the traffic. And it’s not like they just found them tin this position, I watched them come from behind me weaving in and out of traffic. They put themselves in a lot of danger by getting boxed in by 18 wheelers on all sides of them, then they tailgate them and start flashing them. Had the truck ran over anything, the bikes would have no chance to react and avoid. Plus the trucks behind them were tailgating the bikes. Man I was scared for those guys. Be safe guys, and be patient, let that traffic move on and position yourself for safety.
