Hi all

Never posted here... moved to Canada in 2009 (from UK), brought my 3 Honds with me (pics in profile), CN250, PC800 and GL1500SE....

PC800 has never been on the road in Canada (insurance way to high), GL1500 has only been out about 4 weeks, anyway ive seen the 2014 black GL1800 with ABS, nice bike... however compared to the 1500 there seems to be a lot of electrical issues (which i suppose shouldn't be surprising as they appear to have turned it in to a car compared to the 1500).

So am i out for a world of problems with a late GL1800? (i would only by the ABS top model which i find out does not have a CB fitted from factory (no idea why, has the buttons for it though).

Many Thanks

Hello Ashley, your location in Cambridge is approx. 150 Kms east of me. You chose a nice city to live in, just far enough away from Toronto...lol
I could be wrong, but I think all GL1800s sold in Canada are ABS
There are no known electrical problems on the Wings that I'm aware of and I've owned a 2002, 2009 and now a 2012.
I challenge you to find a more reliable motorcycle!
Stick with this forum and you will become quite informed.....the experts on this site are well known and highly valued.
If you purchase an 1800, you would be well advised to purchase Fred Harmon's maintenance DVD,s (for entertainment purposes only ha....ha) even if you don't do your own maintenance, Fred is a Vender on this site and one of the best Goldwing minds we have.

BTW......a belated welcome to Canada to you......??????????????????
Hi, thanks

I plan to do basics, tires, brakes, oil(s) / fluids.

I do have a bike lift, i will be upgrading this to a larger version when i build the larger shed for it.
