This Could Ruin Your Day but it didn't penetrate the inside of the tire and cause a flat, believe it or not.

No it's not my bike, just an anonymous picture.

Man that beats my best. I had less than 50 miles on my Dunlops when a screw passed through the tread sideways.

You know in hindsight what with the slippery when wet syndrome I almost wish it had gone flat.

What is that, it looks like a piece metal that was flame cut

A local cage tire dealer had a bucket on the counter with all the junk that they had taken out of car tires. But, on the floor, was a car tire with a railroad spike in a tire in the same position as that piece of metal...only the spike had punctured the tire. You never know what you'll see on the road. :x
