I'm calling it a pre-meet & eat ride.

Gotta be home Sunday, so Saturday the 21st, I'll be saddleing up the asphalt pony and will stretching her legs in N. Ga. and probably parts of N.C. and/or Tn.

If you can pry yourself out of bed early enough, meet me at the Waffle House, next to the Race Trac just South of Ga. 108 and Hwy 515 (I-575) at 7:30. We'll grab a bite then throw a leg over and spur the horses at 8am.

No RSVP needed, just show up with a full tank, good tires and a positive mind set. Mother Nature looks like she'll provide some sunshine and dry roads.

Before we leave, we'll figure out a lunch destination and get a consensus of what kind of ride we want to do. I'm getting a lot more flexible in my old age. We'll probably log 150 before lunch and about the same afterward before we head for the barn.

Hope to meet some new friends and see some old ones (Steve S, Tommy Gunn, Stealth Cruiser, and others).

Need I say the roads might be a little curved?

Hey, Richard, don't have a clue where we'll end up going. Like I said, we'll probably decide just before we leave. I'd love to do the Cherohala, but it's still a pretty good bet there's ice on the road at the higher elevations. A buddy totalled his bike a few weeks back and it was like in the 50s that day everywhere else.

If we do sneak into Tn., it'll probably be the far Eastern part above Ga. More likely we'll end up in N.C..

Hope to see you on the 28th, for sure.

Good news...If it's alright with whoever shows up, we'll run up 68 to Tellico and across to Robbinsville.

This will be hard to pass up as the Waffle House is just a bit over 8 miles from the house. I plan to ride to work Wednesday to see how my wrist feels, and if I think it will take 300 miles of steering a trike. Tellico to Robbinsville is okay with us!

What if we did 74/64 from Copperhill to 30.....then north to Tellico. Ride over and ride back the Cherohala. Then 68 back......Boardstown, maybe some of old 5 from Elijay south?? I really like that hwy 30 then 315 up to Tellico.

Maybe even the road on up to Vonore from Tellico....eat there......then on up to 129 and south thru the dragon, and then back on the Cherohala? I remember when the Mafia did that back in the day! That was a great ride....even if it was 150 degrees!

Heck I'm not even sure I can make it yet.....just throwing out some ideas I enjoy and have enjoyed with others.

Hell of a good route, Steve. I'll suggest it to those who show up..

Okay guys and gals, just got done programming Steve's suggested route, with a couple of modifications, into the Zumo for Saturday. It will be an incredible ride with great roads and scenery.

250 miles will put us back on Hwy 76 near Blue Ridge probably around mid afternoon.

Hope everyone can make......well not everyone, we'd need a police escort:lol:

Slight correction to proposed route, I mistakenly stated that we would ride the Cherohala when actually we will just miss it. Time permitting we may ride it half way then turn around and come back though.

Weather still will be great.

I'm stoked.

Bump.

Long range weather doesn't look promising though.

Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70. Chance of precipitation is 60%

.....crap

Shouldn't the last two posts be on the 3rd Meet and Eat thread? The 21st is now history.
