When I had a 1500 I checked the belts shortly after 100,000 miles like Honda recommends and to me they seemed perfectly fine so I kept riding. Lots of folks have paid pretty big money to have the belts changed way earlier and multiple times, to me it seems like a lot of wasted time and money.
On my 1989 4th gen, I thought Honda recommended timing belts every 60k. However, that was a long time ago, and because of my life style in the 60's 70's and 80's, I maybe wrong.
Replace them. They have to be getting rotten if original! Easy and cheap enough to replace if you do it before one breaks. If one breaks get out your big wallet!
I’ve slept since I owned 1500’s but I thought it was replace every 100k or 10 years.
