The GL1800 has a rubber plug at the end of each the Slide Pins in the front brake caliber, to keep the threads clean.

I find that a Better plug may be made from the very part that Honda originally used for the GL1500: 45203-MG3-016
The advantage being that such a Metal Plug also acts as a "Check-Nut" to prevent the slide-pin from walking-out; and also Seals much better than the rubber plug (if you install it using grease to seal).

These Metal Plugs (and the slide pins too) are notorious for getting stuck in-place due to corrosion... This mod totally eliminates that problem (Again, presuming that you lightly grease the metal plug and slide pins upon installation)
